‘Trophy trees’ have become the new status symbol for America’s uber-rich, with wealthy homeowners paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to have the prized plants shipped into their yards on helicopters and flatbed trucks. Miami-based landscaper Walter Acree says he has spent much of the past year helping the area’s affluent rip out and relocate trees to their multi-million dollar properties. Acree, who owns the tree-transporting company Green Integrity’s, told The Wall Street Journal that business is booming because South Florida’s superrich are now swooning over horticulture. Other Links
